A pleasant enough estate pub, this large local has two entrances marked 'Public' and 'Saloon', but the two bars are actually contiguous, demarked only by a change in flooring from wood to carpet. A sign outside declares 'cask ales', but there was little evidence of this inside: there was only Courage Best which tasted better than expected. TV screens, a dartboard and a pool table provide the entertainment. The staff and locals were pleasant enough, but the beer wasn't special enough to make me want to turn back here.

Doesn’t look much from the outside but the interior is much nicer. The right hand side of the pub has a log fire comfortable seating and a conservatory at the back. The left had side has a pool table and a dart board. Quite a laid back atmosphere and clientele is probably more mature than others around. Beer is all keg. Interesting piped music choice, Rolf Harris’ The Court of King Caractacus was playing on one of my visits.
