ORIGINAL REVIEW Sept 2010.
A Fullers tied house with a couple of their ales featured on my trip,London Pride and the seasonal Red Fox which was very good.The interior is quite minimalist,yet traditional and the removal of the pool table has been a very positive move which has changed the atmosphere in the pub for the better.Some interesting pictures of the village over the years adorn the walls.The new regime have also introduced a good range of pub food ,including the excellent all day breakfast mentioned by the other posters.I would place the Lord Louis as the best pub in the village judging by ale quality and food value.Occasional live music maintains a community feel.
UPDATE
The front of the pub is now given over to a Thai restaurant.There seems to be a regular change of emphasis at this pub,possibly as a result of a fast turnover of tenants.

excellent staff, fantastic atmosphere, loving the music at the weekends!!! Quite a varied range in age groups, plus its also child friendly (till 8pm!!) No food service yet, but that is coming soon. What a find - a tiny village with 3 pubs, but this is by far the one that has the best atmosphere, and its also the cheapest!!! :)

This is definately the place to go! New management has meant that its been given a whole new lease of life, which (lets face it!) it so desperately needed! The drinks are the cheapest of the three pubs in the village, and the enetertainment at the weekends mean that it is more then ready to compete with the larger surrounding towns, bringing in a greater range of age groups.

LOVE this pub, new management has turned it on its head!!! Def recommend this place - entertainment is fantastic, can't wait till the kitchen is up and running!! And just outside of Harlow and Hertford, so avoiding the idiots!!!

A reliable Fullers boozer which has seen some improvement recently.
The welcome is friendly and the interior comfortable with wood floors and furniture but nothing of special note.
Food is served all day and there are various deals available including the 'full english' at £4 as mentioned by Mr Millar previously. Good value and reasonable quality it was too tempting to ignore.
Only two real ales on, Pride and the seasonal Red Fox which was clear, crisp and quaffable.
A reliable stop for a decent pint in Stanstead Abbotts.

Was actually going to the cafe opposite but it was shut on the bank holiday monday 30th Aug. Saw a sign for a "full english" at the pub for £4.00. The food was excellent and we are definatly going back there.
