Pretty brick building with a modernized Z-shaped(ish) interior. Food and library wallpapered area off to the left as you enter, with the main bar and further informal dining tables to the rear. This rear area has old map of the local area on the ceiling which made for a nice visual diversion. Duck egg and white colour scheme and perhaps a bit spartan inside really – could do more to make it really warm and welcoming. Very impressive rear garden; grassed, manicured and surrounded by mature trees. A pub first for me was the sighting of a gratis dog poo disposal station in the garden, complete with bags etc. Four ales on, three from Rebellion and a house ale of unknown provenance. My Rebellion Blonde was in decent form. A 6.5 sort of place, I’ll allow the terrific garden to swing my score up to 7.

Nice village pub well described below, parts of which allegedly date back to the 700's.
It is a 4 minute detour from the Thames path and is well worth the effort.
Rebellion Brewery beers now regularly feature with Smuggler and IPA on alongside Windsor & Eton Knight of the Garter and Hogs Back Hop Garden Gold.
Also popular for food but never tried it but can vouch for the beers which are usually well kept.

Nice looking village pub, seemed fairly well looked after although perhaps a little lacking in character. Quite tastefully furnished in a country kitchen sort of style, but has avoided too much modernisation. At time of visit had 3 local brews on, with the sampled West Berkshire Good Old Boys in excellent condition. Food adequate but not exceptional. Outdoor area at rear. Car park not large but room in lane. Worth dropping in for a few quiet beers.
