Nicely-appointed pub overlooking the village green. The building has a characterful exterior with some original leaded windows. L-shaped interior which is quite cosy - scrubbed wood floor, red/cream walls, tasteful wall hangings. To the rear over the road is a bijou enclosed grass beer garden with a little wooden Buddha that allegedly has a bit of history (see pic). Three ales on; Brakspear Bitter, Pride and Rebellion Seven Seas. Whilst both of my ales were tasty enough I think they were a little long in the tooth. The Rebellion was pricey (over £4) but the Brakspear was more sensible. Very friendly barman, had a good chat. Turns out he’s a Buddhist. I liked it here. If you’re walking from Taplow, use Station Road/Boundary Road to reach the pub, rather than the calf-burning Berry Hill.

This is simply the best pub anywhere in the area. Great food, beautiful setting in the heart of Taplow village, great atmosphere and no rifraf. Once you use this place you wont go anywhere else.
