Another change of ownership means the place has been restored to a more sensible pub now, although it remains to be seen what they do to it. Ads for food offers and various entertainments made it look as though they are trying, at least. It is an old building with a few heritage bits including a nice fireplace, generally in a light cream decor. Ales on were TT Landlord and Adnams Ghost Ship and seemed to be in good condition. It has potential.

Opposite the Jolly Postie, this is a down-at-heel boozer, packed with blokes of all ages watching a Sunday PL match on my fly-by-night visit. An L-shaped room with bar occupying the crook of the L and a beam dividing the two angles there's a large inglenook fireplace to the left, behind which hides a pool table and dartboard. A thin area extends to a wider area out back which I couldn't access due to the throng. Three stumps - all reversed (Sharp's Doom Bar x2 and Atlantic, so I wasn't missing much). A half of Grolsch was £2.10. Probably visited at the wrong time, I still get the impression it's one you're only going to visit for the "tick".
