And even more unfortunately this pub has been transformed into a building site and is currently borded up and awaiting to be demolished to make way for a new housing development.
So in the immortal words of the late , great Freddie Mercury, "Another one Bites the dust".
But if 'quick pint's' recent review was accurate , then this may not be such a great loss..

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cross
Unfortunately, with reference to the previous review, it would appear that this pub has been transformed from a so-called pleasant traditional pub with an excellent food offering back to a run-down shabby dive. Atmosphere somewhere between indifferent and hostile. No real ale, so a quick John Smiths Smooth (vastly over-priced at £3.00) and head for the exit...

this pub has been transformed from a run down shabby dive to a pleasant traditional pub with an excellent food offering. pleasant garden area with a real family feel
