Doesn’t look much from the outside and the tick-shaped interior isn’t much to write home about either, especially the area bathed in gloom due to busted lightbulbs. Just Doom Bar on despite the plaques for Windsor & Eton outside. So Doom it was to be then; a warm and insipid half followed. Punter entertainment in the form of quizzer, pool table, News 24 and a dodgy toy grabber machine (why??). Grubby gents toilets and the ladies not much better according to Mrs Quinno. Faint smell of damp. Two other customers and not hard to see why. Pretty ropey affair all-round, feels unloved and perhaps doomed. As someone notes elsewhere “one of life's mysteries is how 50 pubs a week can be closing but this one stays open.”

Ignore the rating I've given as this place is due to re-open today (30/3/12) following Punch Taverns renovation and conversion into a single bar pub.It won't be difficult for a half decent landlord to improve on what has been a ghastly place for the last few years.
Encouraging to see the Food Available All Day sign up on the wall - I hope they give the overpriced no food Barley Mow down the road some serious competition
