Komakino . left this review about Kite at The Red Hart

A similar layout to the nearby Cock albeit this place is on the St Tropez scale. Entering via a courtyard entrance, the bar is located to the left and the room is long and narrow - the bar to the right and offering two real ales (Harvey's Sussex Best and Bath Gem which had its clip reversed). Retaining original trapping such as low beams (painted black obviously) this came across as rather pretentious, with be-aproned bar staff, focus on cocktails, "glitter face" station (I avoided) and DJ playing off an iMac. Half of Tiny Rebel Cwtch on keg was £2.80.

A pub of two halves, the best being the front lounge that you enter from the street. This room shows the age of the building with exposed timbers and thick walls, and it has the tallest bar in Hertfordshire to one side, with a notice saying you may not get spotted by the bar staff !There is a door leading to the rear public bar where the bar staff cant miss you ,and this lounge can be hired for private functions. There is a mix of furniture and a flatscreen with BBC 24News on mute.
The public bar is long and thin, with a pool table at the far end with another flatscreen.
The pub is tied to Greene King, and despite four handpumps only two ales were available on my trip,GK IPA and St Edmunds Bitter (on the turn, pretty awful)
Corporate GK pub grub menus were in evidence in the lounge ,but the seperation with the public bar make this a cosy spot although the darts board here was for decoration only.A pub quiz hints at a more community feel, the public bar seemed quite lively .Shame the ale selection was so poor.
