Komakino . left this review about The Orange Tree

Outside the town centre, this looks to be a newish build, although the provenance is undetermined. Under McMullen's clutches, Al has described it well enough below. Four pumps offering 2 x AK and 2 x Rivertown Midas. Asking for the latter, I was told it was off, so the AK it was. The barmaid was apologetic about the mistake and cheery about the repour, and, to be fair, the AK was actually in great form. Some nice touches inside makes it quite cosy in places, but the feeling is pick it at the wrong time and you'd feel in the way.

The Orange Tree is a fairly large pub that is well away from the middle of Hitchin.
The pub is a McMullens tied house so i thought thought well worth the walk.
Once inside there is a largish single L shaped room with the bar facing, there is a part bare boarded, carpeted and stone floor, there is comfy bench seating with chairs and normal tables and chairs, plus some pew seats.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of McMullens Country Bitter, which went down very well, the other real ales were McMullens 1827,IPA and a house beer Orange Tree.
Food was being served and background music was playing.
I like pubs like this, comfortable and having decent McMullens beers on the bar.
