Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wrestlers

It's hard to imagine that this village-type pub was once on the Great North Road, with all the through traffic having long-since been cut off by construction of the East Coast Main Line (or, rather, the forerunner thereof). It's now very much a suburban pub, with a busy kitchen and dining area on one side of the bar. There is also a conservatory leading to a decent-size beer garden and children's play area on the other side. Pride (£3.50) and a reversed Abbot clip on the two handpumps.

This is one of the only pubs that I can frequent with my children and feel very welcome. The landlord and landlady go out of their way to make u fee comfortable as do the staff and all the people that go there. We first visited 7 years ago and go back time after time after time. The food is excellent and you feel like you are at home with friends. NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

This is a small pub that has been extended with the addition of a conservatory which is labelled as a restaurant and children's area. The beer garden is huge and has a climbing frame and swings to keep the kids amused. The bar area is very ornate with an inglenook that is adorned with all sorts of brass and copper objects and there seems to be a horse theme throughout with cart wheels and bridles hanging up alongside numerous horse brasses.

I found the barman to be polite enough and Adnams and Pride were available alongside a standard draught selection.

There is a dartboard, but there were too many tables on the oche for me to think that it is readily used by passing customers. There is also a plasma screen which was switched off as there was no sport being played, although I didn't actually see any signs advertising live sport.

There is a late license until midnight on Friday and Saturdays, but I think that this pub is frequented by an older crowd as the hits from the fifties that were playing would suggest.

This is a nice enough pub, but I wouldn't go out of my way again.
