Roadside McMullen house though they should baulk at how bad their beer was; Country Bitter was murky, IPA was vinegar. The one remaining AK was fair, at best. There’s a large interior with an island bar with the interior looking like it was last done over by the decorators sometime in the 80’s (which actually isn’t a veiled criticism). Two pool tables at the rear. With only one other customer in situ on a Saturday afternoon, I wonder how much longer this place has left – it seems to function mainly as a stop-off for the cinema and has lost the football crowd since Barnet FC finally vacated Underhill a couple of years back. 3.5

It took me about 5 minutes to get served in here yesterday as the lone barman decided to collect glasses from the beer garden whilst me and another bloke stood at the bar waiting. I thought it a little strange that only one member of staff was on duty on a bank holiday Monday during the Newcastle v Chelsea game. Once I was finally served the barman was polite.

The three pool tables at the rear of the pub were all surrounded with young drinkers, one of which tried to ride a bike into the pub. The fire exit by the pool tables was open with people hanging in with fags on the go and a few more of them were loitering in the car park smoking. I found a table right at the back of the beer garden, away from a potty mouthed chav women, which was nice until the first of many Northern line trains came trundling by about 20 metres from where we were sitting.

All in all not a great experience.
