Unchanged since my previous visit, it's a cracking multi-roomer in a bucolic medieval alley and full of breweriana. GBG-listed, with four cask and a cider on the go, I went for both the local Ledbury brews, the Hersbrucker wasn’t a great brew which probably explained it lacking a little sparkle (NBSS 3). The Ledbury Bitter was everyone else’s pick and it was in sublime condition (4.5). Could have spent an afternoon in here – in the end I made-do with an hour.

As outlined below, this an ancient little pub (Tudor?) in a picturesque cobbled alley running up towards the church, just off the main high street. There’s a snug bar on the left with an old beam and wattle wall and another smaller snug beyond to the right – quite atmospheric. The larger bar area is beyond and goes back some distance. Live music advertised. Five ales on, a pretty decent selection and my choices of Ledbury Dark and Hobsons bitter were both in fine form. Five minutes from the station and well-worth getting off the train for. A little gem. Rated 9

Lovely beamed pub down small traditional street. Lovely inside with small bar area and a good choice of beers.

Pictures of bands who have played decorate the walls, there are settle seats and all traditional.

Called into this 2018 Good Beer Guide pub yesterday and found a friendly traditional pub with selection of real ales, and also real cider available too. Extensive range of foreign beers too. We chose and enjoyed Ledbury Dark and Wander Beyond Mini Milkshake IPA. Also available Wye Valley Butty Bach, Wells Eagle and another I forgot to note.

Came here 3 years ago. In anything, my appreciation of this place has increased.

Superb location, atmosphere and ale.

A superb pub, full of ancient atmosphere. Two Wye Valley Ales on. Ledbury Dark, Three Shires Kenelm, Eagle IPA and a Salopian ale. This is the best ale pub in Ledbury. All black beams, old pub clips and brasses. Lots of interesting and obscure conversation to join in with or just listen to. A lovely pub.

Excellent little ancient pub, running between a back street and a cobbled lane just off the main road. Splendid range of beers; food not sampled but looked good. Recommended.

What a gem, I highly recommend a visit here. The pub is traditional and consists of a room on the left with bar, a snug on the right and a larger room at the rear, which was also served from the front bar.
We received a friendly welcome and had a choice of five ales and three ciders. The barman was very helpful, so I chose a fabulous local cider from Robinsons, named Flagon. They also serve food, which is locally sourced.

Lovely pub with friendly staff and locals serving up well kept ale. Really enjoyed a beer from Wye Valley and another from Butcombe brewery. We didn't eat there, but the food menu looked good, and so did the food being served. There was a good range of foreign beers too.

Very good, the barwoman graciously offered to remove the (wretched) sparklers when she noted our conversation about same, and the beer was excellent and keenly priced at around £2.60 a pt.
