Excellent back street local - worth seeking out, as its a walk from the centre. Wye Valley tied house and Good Beer Guide Regular.

Feels like a couple of terraces knocked together and through, with an airy beamed ceiling, large outside patio and central bar area. Comfy sofas in front room. More tables/chairs in the back.

Beer, excellent.

Nice Wye Valley pub, a little out of the town. Good beer

Old Boots left this review about The Britannia Inn

A back street pub looking like any end of terrace house apart from the fancy quoins and the pub sign however it is owned by Wye Valley Brewery which is a little different. The inside has been thoroughly modernised with light woods and pastel shades, in the back bar roof beams and an innovative answer to toileting have been put in. Seating is on benches and chairs by wooden tables although few people were actually sitting when I called in early evening, most punters were propping up the bar, a few were sitting outside on the patio on the chunky wooden furniture these being mostly smokers of course. In general the customers were much like any other back street pub punters; no sign of any beer geeks. There are some pictures of Britannia, both the national icon and the former royal yacht. The pub still subtly retains a two bar layout with a counter face in both parts and five pulls in each part, there is a Watney’s Red Barrel fount on one counter - I didn’t ask if was serving the foul brew as the Wye Valley beers were excellent.

What a shame I called here after a great day doing a tour of Wye Valley brewery followed by a visit to the Barrels as I feel I cannot remember enough now to do this pub justice in a review. Still enjoyed excellent Butty Bach so there was no problem with the beer, and as it was such a lovely day for the end of October, we spent our time at the pub in a lovely outside drinking area. Friendly locals and made friends with someones dog.
