A run of the mill Greene King pub, a long L shaped layout of little character. It's next door to the hospital and as I was doing a pick up took advantage of a spare ten minutes to tick the pub off, ten minutes was plenty with a cask line up of IPA and Abbott, the keg range is standard. I can't think of a reason to return unless I'm on hospital duty again.

Victorian corner pub on a main road, surrounded by hospital and university buildings. Currently operated by GK as one of their Meet and Eat chain, the ground floor has been knocked through into a J shape, the rear of which is, as Quinno describes below, on three successively lower levels. Pool table, gaming machines, a cash machine and TV screens are present, the noise from all was drowned out by the jukebox. The WiFi didn't work. The staff were pleasant and friendly, while the food was the usual chain slop. Only one ale on, GK IPA, which was drinkable but uninspiring. Fine for a pint if passing but I wouldn't make the effort to come from the City centre.

Long L shaped (note that the rear part is on three levels) Greene King pub with a very modern makeover. All very clinical but tidy enough and quite well done. Pool table at the far end plus plenty of TVs for sport. Just GK IPA (fair) and Abbot on. Best left to the locals.

Decent pub, which is yet another Greene King estabilishment. Seems like your fairly typical Greene King pub with Pool tables and big TV screens showing the football, plenty of loud music as well. If thats your kind of thing this place is worth a visit.
