A quick revisit for a refreshment stop after a countryside walk. Three ales on; Pride, a house beer of unknown origin (almost certainly from GK) and GK Ale Fresco. Condition of the beer was fair. 6.5

Historic gastropub with multiple rooms, low ceilings, slab flooring, oak beams, log burning stove, outside gents etc. Really nice sculpted outside garden which we utilised to soak up the rays. Quite posh, clientèle were a mixture of well-to-do oldies and the nouveau riche's youngster set. Three pumps, two ales on – a house beer of unknown provenance and London Pride (fair). Beware the front car park which is a proper stack and block job. We got boxed in but in fairness the barmaid was well-drilled and located and delivered the offending owner in less than a minute. I wouldn’t mind doing this one again even if the ale choice was functional. Rated 7
