Oddly American themed pub/eatery by the rail bridge. Lots of Americana ephemera alongside a snot green and white colour scheme. Kid-friendly, as evidenced by the giant wooden Tigger in the porch. Massive barrel of gratis monkey nuts in centre of pub, never seen that before. Majors on American-themed food, from the menu it looked like if didn’t pack at least 2,500 calories it doesn’t feature – though it certainly seemed popular and there was a steady stream of orders coming out the kitchen. Newspapers available as well as (a rather iffy feed) Premier league footy. Two ales on; Doom Bar and a pretty awful Tribute. According to WhatPub “the bottled beer selection often includes products of the Brooklyn and San Francisco Steam breweries” though I have to admit I didn’t spot them (though to be fair I wasn’t immediately looking). Well it’s an interesting one for the area but not somewhere I’d say is worth the shoe leather unless you want to eat burgers and get intimate with a giant wooden character from the Hundred Acre Wood.
