E TA left this review about The Redan Inn

A village pub which does B&B, There is a decent garden with a covered patio area, which together with the actual building and its somewhat unbalanced renovations makes it feel like a cross between a scruffy country inn and an Edwardian town boozer depending where you sit. There is a good sized car park just off the main road which is just a hop away from the pub entrance. There is a lawn at the back and a pile of vomit on the footpath at the front, though the latter may be a temporary feature. Either way, it didn’t feel that homely, more that it wasn’t sure what it wanted to be. There is a large L-shaped bar with a parquet floor, a stone fireplace at one end containing a modern woodburner, around which is a collection of armchairs and sofas. Once away from the immediate area of the fireplace, it gets a bit drafty. There are various tables and chairs dotted around. Four handpumps on the bar: Cheddar’s Gorge Best and Potholer, Bath Gem and a pump clipped Tribute which had just gone off. Also available were Neck Oil, a premium lager, a selection of Thatcher’s ciders and Guinness. It was good to pop in for a quick pint, as the beer was in good condition, and I know it’s a popular local venue.
