A classic 1960s partially flat roofed estate pub. Fairly austere inside, the L shaped interior has a pool table at one end and a long line of local characters at the bar. The bar top and back looked original, and the wallpaper acts like it is. Loud 60s and 70s classics on the speakers, just about drowning out the witterings of the fruit machine. Was really surprised to see three pumps at the bar, all clipped; 2x Sharps and one from Slaters. My Sharps Atlantic was slightly hazy and a little muted with yeast babies (pipes..?) but was otherwise tolerable (NBSS 2). A good atmosphere with plenty of chat and not the horror show I half-expected on approach.

This is a great local with all of the things you would expect.
Live sports on as often as we can, fantastic cask conditioned ales, brilliant atmosphere, alway's a welcome smile.
If you every find yourself in the area then come in and see for yourself.
