E TA left this review about The Swallow

A run-down 1970s estate pub on the fringe of a housing estate, now taken on by a new landlord after the previous one allegedly smashed it up and did a runner. The pub rambles and the curtilage includes a function suite with a separate bar. The main bar is airy and open, and it has a pool table, gaming machine, juke box and dartboard, laminate flooring and a single bar counter. There is a rather sorry-looking garden with benches and tables, and an equally run-down carpark. The landlord seemed like a decent bloke, and he understands the effort he will need to put in to get this place back to normal. No food at present, but they’re happy for people to order in takeaways. Only one ale on, Doombar, which was in good condition. I’m not sure I’d make a detour to come here, but let’s hope it’s a success. I might try it again in a few months if they start doing bar snacks and I’m passing.

1970’s-looking estate pub. Very large building footprint, though just the main bar open. No ale available so decided to skip.
