The Micro pub is set up in one half of the old Lamb Inn, the other half seperatly is The Gin Palace Bar. Still reasonably sized inside and actually being part of an old pub it is exactly the same as drinking in a traditional pub,the L shaped room has a wooden floor ,oakbeamed ceiling etc. There are five handpumps and on my visit four beers of an interesting nature available,Plain Ales Incognito, Broadstone Rapid Acsent, Exeter Ales Exile Wicked Wolf and Exeter Ales Pathfinder Cheeseburger Chaser which despite the odd name was really quite good.Backing this up are five craft taps featuring first division brewers, Deya and Verdant to name a couple.
There was a Cider which evaded my notes and now my memory. With out a doubt the best drinking establishment in a rather average town.

+++UPDATE+++
Micropub has opened on part of the site of the building.

January 2012
A Wadworth pub a little off the main drag but only a couple of minutes from the centre. On entering there are two doors and we took the left, leading us into a grubby-feeling room with two dart boards (with stuff in the way of both) along with a pool table that also wasn’t available. The laminated ‘no drugs’ wall sign along with different coloured paint splodges to cover up marks/polyfilla’d holes didn’t really help, so we stuck some money in the quizzer to make up the lack of other offerings. This has been the in GBG previously and the ale was definitely good – five available (all Waddies – 6X, Swordfish, Henrys, Tipple and the 2.8% Small Beer); those we sampled were in good nick. Apart from us and the barman the place appeared empty.

Perhaps I caught it on a bad day but I can say that Wadworth need to throw a little cash here as there is a good pub being held back for the sake of a few tins of paint. I suspect applying this might then mean the drugs sign becomes redundant in due course. Rated 5

Old Boots left this review about The Lamb Inn

An odd traditional Wadworths pub, GBG listed with a three bar layout plus patio. At the town end is a brick extension housing a public bar with pool table, darts board and machines, frequently by some colourful characters on my visit. Up a step or two is a smallish square snug, probably the original public bar, not much furniture and with a TV, bar stools and a posing table. Finally there is a proper old fashioned lounge bar with leather upholstered, bench seating, small round tables and wheel back chairs. Décor is from the horsebrasses and country nic-nack with a few nice sporting prints school, everything just as it should be for this style of very pubby bar, although the padded bar counter maybe a little anachronistic. Each room has a bar counter and hand pumps, the ones in the lounge are especially nice as they are not the usual Angram models seen ad nausem. Well kept Waddy beers plus a guest from Arkells served by a mix of on the ball and rather bored staff.
