Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bell Hotel

Greene King pub, restaurant and hotel located in a prime position opposite the famous abbey. Fronted by scaffolding when I visited (plus it was dark anyway) so I couldn't really the fine old building behind. However, all quite traditional inside the various seating and dining areas, just as you would expect. Three handpumps on the bar counter, offering IPA (£4.30), Abbot and Landlord as a guest.

Traditional old small-town hotel, strategically located opposite the abbey. A reasonable bar in the centre has a couple of lounge areas alongside, with some nice armchairs, and a smart restaurant area behind. Draught ales were GK IPA and Abbot and North Cotswold Shagweaver in reasonable condition if a little warm. Quite pleasant.

olde worlde hotel in olde worlde part of town opposite the Abbey. the pub retains some nice features but is largely your typical open plan Greene King restaurant. it's their more expensive menu and there were some rather posh diners in the place. I think I was the only drinker here on a Saturday afternoon so hardly the place for a proper pub experience. 3 real ales, two were GKIPA and Abbott (does anyone seriously like this beer?) with one guest being Jumpin Jack Flash from North Cotswold. relaxing enough place for a drink but ultimately dull.

Magnificent building and prime location next to the Abbey.

Its a hotel - so it was a hotel bar experience. Greene King IPA was spotted next to the chosen North Cotswold Brewery Mild. Unusual to have a mild on.

Decent enough but nothing memorable.

General Staal left this review about The Bell Hotel

Externally, the Bell has the appearance of a Tudor building, but I suspect it is much older.

Internally, it is 'open plan' but with 'open partitions' separating it into areas. As a 'hotel bar' the Bell has a certain blandness to its historical charm. It just lacks the character that other pubs in Tewkesbury has. It has its black beams and thick walls and central open fireplace, but it just felt pared down. But that's just my own taste.

Service was very good and the customer base was mixed.

Apart from the usual bar stuff, there were two real ales - Greene King IPA and Abbott Ale. I had the Abbott. I always thought I hated Abbott, but I think I am getting a taste for it. I have had it a number of times from different pubs and its growing on me.

I had food here, Lasagne. It was delicious.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Bell and I would always come back for another pint. Its just that for me, I felt more comfortable in other pubs in Tewkesbury. It is just my personal taste.
