Chosen as it is in the 2017 GBG Guide.
Four real ales on - two from Ringwood, a Hobgoblin and something else.
I went for the RW Bitter and not only was it perfect, I also had change from £3. In the heart of the Cotswolds too.
Stone floored bar area, real fire and dining conservatory.

Marstons outlet set in nice leafy grounds. Rambling and charming interior with interconnected areas. Bar as you enter, with a nice carpeted range hearth fireplace (was unlit - should have been as it was a chilly, windy day), plenty of brasses and framed bird prints. A converted barn area behind, stuffed with various wickerwork knick-knacks and an old dresser with various objects d’art. Beyond is a light and bright dining room conservatory. A pleasing jumble of seating throughout. Alcove with shove h'apenny and a bagatelle board, good to see. Almost deserted on my lunchtime visit and no atmosphere as a result so felt a bit awkward. Four ales on; Help for Heroes Blonde (fair), Hobgoblin, Ringwood 49er and Pedigree. A bit of huffing and puffing behind the bar wasn’t quite the warm and friendly welcome one would expect - perhaps that’s why the place was empty? A nice pub but doesn’t seem to be firing on all cylinders. I’d give it another go as there’s enough there to make it worthwhile. 6.5
