Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Drillmans Arms

The Drillman's Arms is situated on a main road out of Cirencester in the Stratton area of the town. It has room for 2 or 3 cars at the front, with further space available on the main road outside.

There are a couple of rooms, with a public bar at the front and further space at the rear, from where we could hear a rather raucous family with kids.

The 3 real ales here were Well's Bombardier, Potbelly Piggin' Saint & Allsopp's Pale Ale. The barman and customers at the bar were happy to recommend a beer, which in my case was the Piggin' Saint.

I didn't spot the aforementioned TV in the front bar. Indeed, the guys at the bar were watching live football on an iPad, whilst there was another small TV behind the bar. It's possible that TV Sport is now shown in one of the rear rooms, which could have been the reason for the loud shouting. I didn't venture any further to find out!

A fairly cosy local pub, which didn't quite match the experience in the Marlborough Arms or the Twelve Bells elsewhere in town.

The Drillmans Arms is a rarity in this day and age, it is a no nonsense proper pub. The first indication of this is the pub carpet!
But joking aside, The Drillmans Arms has all the elements of a traditional pub, indeed the front of the pub has the cosy feel of a living room about it. Modern pub goers are catered for with the big screen TV on the wall which was showing a rugby match. There are two other areas, which are located at the rear of the pub, a skittle alley with some dining tables (it can get quite busy at the front of the pub, if you want to dine there). The other room has a small bar, a pool table and dart board.
As previously mentioned, the front part of the pub was busy, so my partner and I, sat in the pool room. We ordered some food, baked potatoes with a chilli con carni filling, which was well cooked. They serve good honest pub grub at the Drillmans. This was washed down with Honeysuckle smash which was in good condition. Other ales available were Commando, Phoenix and Doombar.

The Drillmans Arms is in the stratton area of Cirencester to the north of the town centre.
This pub has two rooms and i went in a smallish lounge which was packed and it was standing room only.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Shires bitter which was a very nice drink the other beers were Bass and Wadworth 6X i thought this was quite a nice pub and would have ben even better if i had got a seat.

Pub visited 3 August 2002.
