Nick Davies left this review about The Slaughters Inn

This doubtless was an inn once, but now it's a five-star hotel in a prime tourist spot. It comprises a group of traditional buildings around some beautiful gardens and the river. There is a public bar in the main building which looks like it was once lovely but is now rather more basic than you might expect, then a lounge further on. Nice warm log fire though.

Brakspear's bitter on the pumps, which I have to say was in excellent shape, as it should be, considering a pint and a half plus a packet of Nobby's dry roasted came to eleven quid. Maybe the fact that the nuts had to be decanted into a glass was deemed added value.

So not much for the pubgoer, though in summer a pint in the garden would be worth the expense.
