Located across the road from the rear entrance of Cheltenham Spa station. Quite a plain 2 roomed interior serving 1 real ale.

A station pub (opposite Cheltenham Spa) as described by BF below. This a two-roomer in the Georgian style with a small main bar to the right with seating inside a large bay window and a longer, thinner and quieter (Smooth FM notwithstanding) room to the left with aforementioned table. The dubious bunch of locals were in attendance on an early Friday evening as they were 2 years ago for BF and despite the presence of Butcombe Gold, it wasn't available as it was settling (then why bother having the clip facing outwards?). A second pump was unclipped, so a half of Staropramen Prahva it was at £2.05 a half. Uninspiring.

Despite the friendly welcome from the barmaid, this station hotel confirms all the stereotypes of many pubs nearest the station,it had a clientele of dubious quality on my visit. There are cheap rooms available upstairs, and on my visit a knot of all day drinkers at the bar with their offspring running around the interior, one on a small bicycle. The pool table room to the left was the main playroom but a teenage daughter in the tap room to the right was letting everybody know that she was going to report her father at the bar to the Child Support Agency.I tried to focus on the flatscreen with BBC News 24 while I tried to down my half of Doombar (£1.65),the only real ale at the bar. The interior is quite large and I didn't investigate a downstairs area beyond the pool table.Best left to the folk who call this their local.
