The pub has reverted to the name of The Ardleigh, and is no longer a Thai food pub. All of the Thai chain pubs have changed theme, and the web site has gone.

I’m not sure what this place used to be like when it was known as the Spencers Arms, but since the name change in 2008 it is now more of a Thai restaurant with more than half of the pub being set for diners and a strong smell of prawn crackers wafting around the building. San Miguel and a very limited standard draught selection are available and my pint of Guinness was ok, but was very short measured and expensive for the area. Maybe the pricing is designed to attract a certain type of clientele as there is a smart dress code and an over 21s policy which I found strange for a pub/restaurant.

There is a nice beer garden out the back with some well spaced out picnic tables and there is also a covered smoking area with a couple of picnic tables to the left of the back door.

The food looked and smelt very good and it wasn’t that expensive coming in at around £7 for a main so I would gladly return here to sample the food, but I wouldn’t entertain the idea of going here just for a drink again.
