Komakino . left this review about The Ashwell Arms

An A-board from the nearby Church Street advertising a Slovakia-England WC qualifier from September 2016 seemed odd when one considers how attractive the facade of this Charles Wells house just off the thoroughfare does look. Separated into two rooms, the room to the right is cosy and staple-shaped, with a small bar to the left, tables and chairs and 'bookshelf' wallpaper (and unused on my Monday evening visit); the room to the left is mainly rectangular-shaped with the bar jutting off to the middle-right, bare-boarded and with a pool table at the back of the room surrounded by a proliferation of old sporting postcards and photos. Just Courage Director's on draught with a second pump unclipped, albeit at an eye-watering £2.15 for a half. More bad than good, so not quite a curate's egg.
