We returned to the Robin Hood as we were on holiday in the area and inside it is still the attractive place it was on our last visit. We purchased two drinks and were taking them to the area we used when we were there before to be challenged by the officious barmaid who looked as though she had just left school. She called to us over the bar to say if we were not eating, we could not go and sit there. As she served us with our drinks, it would have been sensible to have handled it then, rather than treating customers like that. We will not be returning.

This is an L shaped pub that is such a nice place to be in. It has the look and feel of a traditional pub, and is clean and in good condition. The staff are friendly and helpful. Greene King IPA on handpump at £2.85, plus two other real ales. We do not normally eat in pubs, but we did here on two evenings. The menu is well thought out, sensibly priced and the food excellent. I do not often rate pubs as 9, and I would be pleased to have this as my local.
