Old Blue left this review about The Star Inn

A 17th century coaching inn which retains a lot of traditional character, the Star has a central bar area, with the room to the left known as the Buccaneer’s Restaurant, and an extension to the right being a fairly spartan lounge. A vintage one-armed bandit and shooting gallery adorn the wall on the way to the lounge. There is a pleasant patio garden to the rear, backing onto the harbour walkway. During my visit in June it was fairly busy, mainly with drinkers in the central bar area and garden. A Greene King house, it had four handpulls drawing GK IPA, Old Golden Hen and London’s Glory, with the fourth unclipped.

Large pub with a T shaped bar and restaurant area. The inside is looking a bit tired in places, but the rear patio area, which leads out to the quayside, looks like it has been recently refurbished. The toilets are a bit of a trudge from the bar, but close to the patio area. Real ales available, with Greene King IPA, and all at reasonable prices. A nice place to enjoy a few pints.

Nice high street pub with a lovely beer garden at the rear. Staff and locals were very friendly and inside the pub is clean and comfortable with lots of discrete nooks and crannies to sit in. For a Green King pub this is about as good as it gets, we enjoyed a pint of their golden beer which was in good condition and quite drinkable.
