Steve C left this review about The St Leonard

Firstly I would like to point out that this pub has the very restricted opening hours of 17:00 to 23:00 Wednesday to Saturday and 15:00 until 21:00 on Sundays. This may seem a bit ‘part-time’ but the attitude of the scrounging scum that wander around Warrior Square in daylight would leave some aghast. Let’s just say that Warrior Square and Chatham Bus Station are of the same ilk when it comes to soap dodging illiterates and their feral spawn. Thankfully, unlike other pubs in the area, the St Leonard manages to draw a mainly friendly crowd.

The interior consists of a bar and seating to the right and a sunken area with more seating to the left. Some well-tended toilets are found down a further flight of stairs at the rear of the pub. It was very busy during my visit on Friday evening, but I managed to find a seat to have a decent couple of pints whilst listening to some 1970s background music. I didn’t spot any televisual distractions and there was an absence of gaming machines.

I didn’t see any food advertised and the opening hours would suggest that food is not on the agenda. St Leonard Ale, Otter Brewery’s Otter Ale and Box Steam Brewery’s Perfect Serve were the three cask options alongside a premium draught range. I found the service to be friendly and I will use this pub again.
