Steve C left this review about The Railway

The Railway is a small pub conveniently located next to Warrior Square Railway Station, but the handful of punters in attendance when I visited on a recent Saturday afternoon were all regulars. The outside was covered with scaffolding and a couple of blokes in workman clothes were smoking in the entrance, but thankfully it was business as usual. The bar area is wedge shaped tapering off to the front so it is a little more spacious at the rear where a dartboard can be found. Alongside a standard draught range are three hand pumps and although one was unused Harveys Best and Courage Best were both available. There is a jukebox and a plasma screen that was turned off. I didn’t spot any Sky Sports advertisements, but there are some football pennants on the back wall so maybe games are shown when they are on. Children are permitted and there is a meat raffle every Saturday afternoon.

After my afternoon visit I happened to end up in here again just before closing time and found a pub with three customers, two of which were playing darts with the woman working behind the bar. I thought that this pub was a little depressing and when next in St Leonards I will wake the effort of a little walk away from Warrior Square to find a decent pub with some atmosphere.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Railway

Quite an interesting looking pub, shaped in plan like one of those pre-packed wedges of supermarket cheese. Inside, there is just one small bar with a fairly limited amount of seating (but most customers seem to prefer the area nearest the door so probably worth heading towards the back which is also where the two handpumps are located). Seems to offer a reasonable pint at about £3.00, and very handy - as the name would suggest - for St Leonards Warrior Square station.
