Steve of N21 left this review about The Bedford Arms

This 19th century single room pub with its low beamed ceiling doesn’t sound like it’s changed too much from Steve’s initial review some 14 years ago. Still got the pool table, darts board and juke box and shows Sky Sports on a couple of screens.
What has changed is that the beer choice is now even more limited in that the hand pumps were unbadged for my visit and gave the impression that nothing had been pumped through them in a very long time, thus leaving quit a thin standard draft selection.
However it does have one selling point that may be a reason to visit and that is that it has a very nice sizeable outside garden space with plenty of bench seating that then overlooks the sports ground and the towns cricket pitch. And when there is a cricket match on I could imagine it’s a decent spot, even for a pint of fizz. However, outside of this I can think of no reason why you would choose this one over other hostelries in town.

Steve C left this review about Bedford Arms

This is very much a local's pub, but the governor was very polite and I didn't feel unwelcome at any point. After a couple of pints the wife and I did decide to leave as we ended up being surrounded by kids and we went away for the weekend to escape that.

There were two Harvey's Best hand pumps behind the small bar along with an unused pump and a very limited draught selection. There is a pool table at the back of the pub by an out of order pinball machine. There is also a very good juke box on the wall next to the gents toilets at the rear. There is a dartboard in the main bar area and a TV in both areas, one of which was showing boxing on Eurosport.

This place needs some TLC and it is not that big a place and it certainly doesn't have enough room for the wooden objects stored along the front wall. I'm not sure that I would go back if I was ever in Rye again.
