We have been going for here occasionally for the past 2 to 3 years, Stephan & Sonia have worked really hard making this place so welcoming and friendly, the changes they have made make this such a different place to how it was before they took it over. Sonia's Restaurant is beautifully presented with absolutely lovely food of great quality and reasonably priced - there really is something for everyone. The pub side is run really well by Stephan and he has various acts playing there throughout the year - his beers and various other drinks always of good quality and clean glasses without those horrible glass cleaner rings still on them as you find in so many pubs. A real treat for the people of Pevensey and visitors to the area.

The Beach Tavern has a banner outside proudly stating that Sovereign FM voted it their pub of the year and whilst this is not a classic pub I do agree that the accolade was probably warranted as the management are very hands on and there are many different things going on from a line dancing club, Wii nights and a fitness club to the weekly quiz and meat raffle on Wednesdays evenings from 20:00. To the left of the entrance is Sonia’s restaurant where food is served from midday until 14:30 and from 18:00 until 20:30 on Mondays through to Saturdays and midday until 14:30 on Sundays. The food seems to be fairly standard pub fayre that is reasonably priced and there are deal nights including two steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. The L shaped bar supports four hand pumps that were drawing Broadside, Doom Bar and Hepworth’s stout with one pump being unused. A few draughts products are also available that include Stowford Press cider and Hepworth’s Conqueror. The bar area houses a plasma screen that, as far as I could tell, doesn’t show Sky Sports, but an FA CUP replay was being shown via ITV when I visited. There is also a jukebox, but his was switched off as the quiz was in progress in the large back room that is found behind the right hand side of the bar. This room has a dartboard and another plasma screen along with a quiz machine.

There are a few picnic tables outside the front of the pub that are separated from the road by a small almost waist high wall.

I found the management and staff to be more than hospitable and I would have no problem returning to this family friendly local pub.
