Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Smugglers Rest

Typical Vintage Inns set-up, with a venerable (if much extended) hostelry thoroughly refurbished inside. Still, despite the numerous changes, it does retain some character, and in good weather the outside tables atop the cliffs must be a fine spot to while away the afternoon... On the beer front, Doom Bar, Tribute and Windsor & Eton Knights of the Garter (£3.85) were available from three of four handpumps.

Steve C left this review about Badgers Watch

The Badgers Watch is very food orientated with the main meals costing £8 to £15, but the food I saw going out looked pretty good. The bar supports three hand pumps that were drawing Harveys Best, White Horse’s Black Horse Porter and Spitfire. There is also a standard draught selection alongside Staropramen and Peroni, but my Guinness was a bit short, as was the barman, and I’ve certainly had better. There is a central bar that is surrounded by different seating areas up and down various steps and there are some little intimate areas to hide away in. There is also a doubled sided open fire in a large column at the front of the pub with views out to the sea. There was some generic background music playing and there are no TVs that I could see, but there is a quiz machine. Children are welcome and the toilets are located upstairs.

Outside there are some picnic tables either side of the pub next to the main road through Peacehaven and at the rear of the pub there are lots of picnic tables with nice coastal views.

This is a reasonable place for a dimly lit food pub, but I wouldn’t return just for a beer again.
