The Tub Man is a grotty live music venue that looks like the aftermath of a gate crashed house party organised by a teenager via Facebook. Yes the sound system is fantastic and there is table football, a test your strength boxing machine and a pool table at the rear, but I imagine this dimly lit dank bar becomes very sweaty when busy. The décor is non existent and the only effort that has been made to make this a welcoming place is some crudely scrawled graffiti that is found on places on the walls. A limited standard draught selection along with Addlestones cider is available from the bar and the Guinness was acceptable. I didn’t spot any food advertised and even if food was available this wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my places to dine list.

I’m not a student and I’m not that keen on watching live music in pubs so maybe a negative review from someone like me can be taken as a glowing endorsement by the students of the area.
