Large and imposing late Victorian pub which wouldn't look out of place in London, Birmingham or Manchester. Well worth a visit just for its imposing interior which features many of it original Victorian fixtures and fitting including the excellent tiling by the right hand vestibule entrance and some remaining original cut and etched glass. There is plenty to admire here in the front bar and the rear (now dining?) room with its two skylights and wonderful moulded frieze around the top.

Very much a community pub in the true sense of the word with many events raising money for various charities. Alas, as pointed out in other reviews there is no real ale. The very nice landlady let me in early to take photos of the splendid interior.

Old fashioned roadside boozer straight out of the ark. Glass, wood and tiles abound. Unfortunately does not sell real ale and would be a much better pub if it did.

This is a big old Victorian boozer like many others in Eastbourne. It feels pretty rough and ready with a pool table in one corner, a piano in another and CCTV pointing in every direction. The barmaid was very friendly, but there is only a limited selection of standard lager available. There is a TV in the centre of the room that was showing the formula 1 whilst I was there. There were also some free chicken legs lying around the bar, but the locals didn't touch them so I gave them a wide berth.

I'd probably not go back in as ‘Back to the Old Skool' nights aren't really my cup of tea anymore, but they do explain the CCTV.
