As described below, this converted mill has plenty of parking and a pleasant rural garden. It feels more like a country house than a mill. It’s comfortable inside and the welcome from the staff seems genuine. They were very happy for us just to have a few beers, the landlord was very friendly and he even went to find a newspaper for us. One ale on, Butcombe Rare Breed, which was in very good condition. I’d be very happy to come back whenever passing.

Very large former mill and the water from the River Frome still runs underneath the converted building. Three tiers inside including a kids play room on the ground floor. Fairly open-plan L shaped bar on the middle floor with tartan carpet and wood burning stove. Fairly non-threatening décor as to be expected, the usual mocha choca colourings. Two pumps with one ale on, a surprisingly good Butcombe and surprisingly cheap too. You’re unlikely to come here just to drink unless you’re a wally like me but if you do, it certainly could be worse. 5.5

February 2014 party of two. A very pleasant evening where we stopped for food. Place was empty when we got there but did fill up through the night. They had been having some very wet weather in the area but the welcome was warm and the fire was roaring. Food was excellent quality and quantity left us with no room for puddings. I would love to see the place in the summer as the river surrounds and cuts through the property (well it was a mill, you know). Outdoor seating on a warm summer's evening looks idyllic. Would recommend.

Have visited this pub many times, food, service absolutely excellent has become one of our favourite places to be. Been with family members and they say the same, will be visiting for a birthday meal in November
