Steve C left this review about St George Inn

The St George is split into two with a public bar to the left and a lounge bar to the right. The public bar houses a large plasma screen which was showing a Champions League game via terrestrial television. I didn’t spot any Sky Sports advertisements, but I would be surprised if this pub didn’t have this facility. The left hand side of the bar is raised and there is a dartboard and a pool table that was covered and pushed over to the side wall. This is probably where the karaoke is set up that occurs every Friday night. The saloon bar is a comfortable area with more seating and there is another plasma screen on the wall that was also showing the football. There is no real ale here and the only food that I saw advertised were the roasts on Sundays that are available from midday until 17:00 and are cheaply priced at £5.50.
This pub doesn’t open until 14:00 Monday to Thursday and midday the rest of the week, but there is a half an hour extension every night.
Out the back of the pub there is a good sized beer garden with a paved area at the front and a grass covered area beyond. There are some children’s toys out here so I imagine that kids are allowed in the pub.

This pub is preferable to the Stag’s Head next door, but neither is a patch on the Stanley Arms which is less than a ten minute walk away.
