Steve C left this review about The Shakespeares Head

The shakespeares Head is made up of an L shaped bar and a separate seating area behind the bar that has an opening for drinks service. This is a Hall and Woodhouse pub with a draught selection of Heineken, Leffe, HB Extra Cold, Guinness and Stowford Press. There are also three hand pumps that were drawing Firkin Fox, Badger and Tanglefoot, the latter of which hit the spot. Food is served and there is an extensive sausage and mash menu where each dish will take £8 out of the pocket. I also saw Sunday roasts advertised which cost around £10 and are served from midday until 18:00. My visit was on Saturday night so I can forgive the loud music. I didn’t see a television, but the Six Nations was advertised on the A board out front. I chuckled when I read the other side of the A board that says “It’s pint o’clock”. Shakies (as it is also known) open at 16:00 during the week and noon at the weekend and there is a late license every night including until 00:30 on Fridays and Saturdays. Most of the patrons were of student age and I found the staff to be very friendly.

I liked it in here and would pop back in if passing.
