As per Will, I was a little shocked to enter a premises where the first thing I saw on the bar was cake stands(?!). However, two of the three ale line-up (binning off London Pride) were by 'Ampthill Brewhouse', a new brewery to me, and halves of the Session Ale and Honey Trap were nice and surprising alternatives in the heart of Charlie Wells country.

A smart hotel with an even smarter bar, set up like a café with cakes and coffee machine, but with a surprising set of three hand pumps too. Even more of a surprise to find Jennings Bitter and Thwaites Lancaster Bomber here in the heart of Bedfordshire, and served without a sparkler too! Not so much of a surprise to be charged £2 for a half of the Jennings. Although the beer was ok, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way again to drink expensive beer in what amounts to a café.
