Steve C left this review about The London Unity

The London Unity is found in the back streets of Hanover and anyone approaching is informed by a large sign about the student discounts on the beer and curry. ‘The Curry Pub’ is etched into the frosted glass on the windows so I wasn’t surprised to see a food menu dominated by Madras and Masala. I am glad to report that this is still a proper pub with board games that were being played by some enthusiastic students during my recent midweek evening visit. There is a TV that was showing muted premier league football that the friendly bloke working behind the bar was keen to chat about. To the right of the entrance is a small stage that was hooked up to some sound equipment and behind the slender bar is a thin seating area separate from the main seating in the bar area. Amstel, Stowford Press cider and some standard draught products are available from the bar which also supports four hand pumps. One of these was unused so Betty Stogs, Tribute and Doom Bar were all available for £3.10 a pint.

A ‘student curry pub’ isn’t somewhere that I would intentionally visit, but I thought that the curry gimmick was very low key and the students were thankfully not freshers. I’d have no problem returning for a beer or two.
