Steve C left this review about The Hartington
The Hartington is a pub with a contemporary feel where the management have gone for gastro décor and a colour scheme to match. The interior is U shaped and hidden away behind the bar to the right are a pool table and a dartboard. There is seating along the length of the bar and more seating to the left where there is a gas fire. The plasma screen was switched off during my visit early last Tuesday evening and I saw no advertisements for Sky Sports. There was some reggae music playing in the background and I spotted a sign for the weekly Wednesday quiz that kicks off at 20:00.
I didn’t spot any menus, but food is sold because on a Wednesday a meal and a pint can be purchased for £7.50. Carling is available from the bar alongside some premium draught products. The Doom Bar was off, but Harvey’s Best and Directors were being drawn from the two operational pumps.
The service was friendly, but I don’t plan to revisit anytime soon as I prefer a more traditional boozer.
