Steve C left this review about Font

The Font, recently shortened from The Font and Firkin, is a large pub directed at the many students of the area. During the day there is a cheap pub grub menu and in the evenings the bouncers are rolled out and this becomes a late night pub with loud music. It was one of the busier pubs I visited last Tuesday evening as a DJ played some funky house music. The bar is stocked with standard draught products along with Peroni and the Fosters rolls in at £1.25 a pint on Tuesday evenings, which is cheaper than a half. There are a couple of plasma screens, but I didn’t spot any sports advertised. There is some upstairs seating that overlooks the bar area, but I didn’t venture up there.

I imagine that it gets uncomfortably busy in here at the weekends, but there was a good atmosphere during my visit. I’m about fifteen years too old to fit in here, but I suppose I can see the attraction that draws in the punters.
