hondo . left this review about Crowns

Live music in action on my visit. Not to far from the train station. 1 real ale.

Steve C left this review about Easy Bar

The last time I wandered past the Easy Bar was around 22:00 on a Tuesday evening last year when it was shut. I decided to give it another shot yesterday (Monday) evening and found it open, although the lack of service for almost five minutes had me wondering why I was bothering. I was just about to leave when the barman emerged from the back of the bar. He seemed friendly enough, but he didn’t offer any form of apology for the long delay. There is a range of standard draught products available from the bar alongside Amstel and Two hand pumps that were drawing W J King’s Brighton Best and Heritage cider. Food is served daily from noon until 19:00 and the menu has a Caribbean theme with main that cost around £8. There is a plasma screen that was switched off and there is no Sky Sports, but the Six Nations was advertised. The Caribbean theme is carried through into the music which was mainly reggae. There is a large arch through to the bar, but this is effectively a single room bar full of seating. Regular DJ nights are advertised for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and a valentine’s day was being heavily plugged.
Some awning covered seating can be found at the side of the building and the A-board enlightens passers-by to the discounts for students and local shop workers. It was whilst in this outside area that I was accosted by two different beggars in just as many minutes prompting me to re-enter the bar.

I would be tempted to venture back here for some lunch if I was a local, but I think that I’ve had my last drink here.
