The Bear has a U shaped bar area and a room at the rear that houses a dartboard. There is a projector screen and a couple of plasma screens for watching Sky Sports and in the bar there is a large cage that holds some sort of parrot. Amongst the standard draught products on the bar there are three hand pumps that were drawing Harveys Best, Hobgoblin and the festive Rudolph’s Reward. There are deals on some drinks and spirits can be doubled for an extra pound. Food is served and the breakfast is heavily advertised and looked good value for money reading the ingredients.
There is a quiz every Sunday from 20:30 and there are advertisements for a pool table, but I didn’t spot it on my quick walk around the pub. Out the back there is a courtyard with seating and a covered smoking area.
I liked it in here and would have no problem returning.
