E TA left this review about The Glassblowers

Previously The Bell, this historic building has been gutted and reopened last year as The Glassblowers. The Georgian high street building has a small, tidy paved garden in what was previously a scruffy carpark. Inside, the ground floor has had some walls removed to form a single large continental-style cafe-bar. Some of the floor is slightly higher than the rest and there are wrought iron railings to prevent accidents. Decor is pleasant and fairly minimal, the brick walls, wooden floors and original chimney breast speaking for themselves. There is a small dining room upstairs which is a little more intimate than the bar . The staff were very friendly and welcoming, while the clientele included a number of families. There is free wifi available. They start serving breakfast at 9AM, and they serve coffee, tea and continental style snacks - including moules marinieres - throughout the day. The bar is also a bit minimalist, with five black cast iron pipes supplying Palmers Dorset Gold, Palmers Bitter, Becks Vier, Vedett and a real cider at reasonable prices. The beer was well kept and in good condition, not over-cooled. This pub is a huge improvement over its previous incarnation, well worth a visit at any time of the day and I would definitely include on a crawl.

Antony Wells left this review about The Bell Hotel

A small, friendly, busy, town centre pub, with two bars, a small selection of real ales, all the usual other drinks and little else except for glass windows from another era. I doubt they do food, but the welcome is usually warm. This review may sound lukewarm, but in truth it's no bad place to wile away an hour or two.
My rating 5 stars. It is simply another High Street pub, not as good as some but a damn sight better than many
