A back-street boozer as described by others below. It has gaming machines and TV showing live sports. The staff were friendly, but the entitled, boorish tourist families were very tiresome, as were their feral offspring. Food was cheap and plentiful, though a few idiotic grockles still complained that the steaks were not right. Dogs are not allowed in, a pity given that they would be better behaved than the children. Two ales on, Directors in excellent condition and Bombardier, which we didn’t hang around to taste. OK but not the best Weymouth has to offer.

Little pub with a massive long corridor to the side of the bar.Locals pub.long wait for the barman to appear but he did eventually and said he was very busy and only had two hands.Quick check along the bar told me that was the correct number even for the locals.Three dull(to me)Marstons beers on cask but a superb Banks mild on keg at £2.90 a pint.

The Wellington is an L shaped pub with a dartboard around to the left of the bar. There was a small plasma screen showing muted Olympic coverage and some loud dance music was playing during my recent Thursday evening visit.
The bar is stocked with standard draught alongside Bank’s Mild Draught and Thatchers Gold. The three hand pumps were drawing Wychwood’s Hobgoblin alongside Ringwood’s Best and Fortyniner. Food is served during the day and the mains on the menu came in around the £7 mark.

I found the service to be friendly, but unfortunately some of the drunken locals left a lot to be desired. If I was passing during the afternoon I would check to see who was propping up the bar before entering. The music was a little loud for my liking so I would avoid during the evening.

Decent enough little back-street boozer. Beers kept well (I only had time for a pint of Ringwood's FortyNiner - which was spot-on). We didn't eat but the food looked really good with generous helpings and seemed good value, although the menu is just typical pub grub. Above average.

A back street terraced pub, with red and white exterior, with some green ceramic tiles - very traditional. We visted this place in 2009 and returned this year.

The interior had an open plan L-shaped main room (there was a dining room off the corridor leading to the bogs, i think it was for families, but nobody was in and our family ate in the main room). The pub is small and there are a few tables in what was the dart area (the board is still there). Decor is cream and wood panel, with a brick fireplace and there were lots of old photos, water colours, model ships, and other curios, like a sewing machine, dotted about. The only modern touch was a few twigs with lights on. The food was fine, the service friendly and the clientele few. Background music was of a decent level. There is a TV, which had sport on at my last visit.

Beer; its a Marston's pub, so Banks's Bitter, Ringwood Bitter and Ringwood 49 on handpull. The Ringwoods were fine. At my last visit, Banks's Dark MILD was on keg, which was excellent and there was also Hobgoblin and Ringwood 49er on handpull. Both of these were decent.

Yes, i would happily go back to this pub - and of course, have now! Enjoyed it.

The Wellington is on a busy pedestrianised street in the town centre.
This pub used to be an Eldridge Popoe tied house and there were still signs of this when we went in here.
Once inside there is a corridor and a the main drinking room is on the right there is also another room behind this but we only went in the room at the front this was fairly basic but comfortable enough, there were a couple of real ales on the bar and we had a drink of Eldridge Pope bitter which was quite a nice drink the other beer was Wadworth 6X.
The pub was fairly quiet and seemed more of a locals pub but it did let us in with two kids.

Pub visited 23 August 1999.
