This is a family friendly pub but it suffers for it with lots of kids roaming between the tables.Food on the night was a disaster and although they offered a free drink we had had enough of this place.Superb Jaipur

Like the other Weymouth JDW it looks unpromising from outside but is OK and rather bigger than expected inside. As noted below, it's a split level with a long narrow area on the seafront side of it and a wider and larger area up some steps. The fixtures and fittings are all fairly standard. It was fairly busy on a winter Saturday afternoon.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had the JDW Trio Of Doom doubled up, Brewster's Decadence, Summerskill's Devon Dew, Grainstore 1050 and Great Newsome Frothingham Best. I went for the 1050 (£2.85) which was in good nick.
I thought both Weymouth Spoons were OK, although a bit on the expensive side.

A large 'spoons on two levels which makes it necessary to inspect both ranks of handpumps ,5 on the lower and 5 on the upper,to make your ale choice. The upper section is the larger ,with ranks of traditional tables pretty much full on a Thursday lunchtime visit, while the lower section is calmer with views out of the large plate glass windows. The usual suspects appear on both levels (Abbott,Doom Bar ,Ruddles Best) which left guest ale comprising Piddle Coal Porter (acceptable),Otter Ale,Dorset Brewing Tom Brown's,Shepherd Neame Spitfire and Bishops Finger. Not an exceptional guest list, but I enjoyed the friendly service ,there is enough here to warrant a crawl visit.

One of two JDWs in Weymouth, well described by those below. Seven ales on draft, a reasonable selection of craft beers and two boxed ciders were on offer, I had a pint of Coal Porter, which was not my usual style but was nonetheless very enjoyable – almost a stout but not as heavy. A better-than-average 'Spoons, with chatty, friendly staff, worth including on a crawl.

The William Henry is a large Wetherspoons with a bright split level front bar and a much larger upstairs seating area with bar at the rear. Both sets of stairs have lifts for disabled access and there is a disabled toilet. The usual draught suspects are all available and there are ten hand pumps split between the two bars. These were drawing some Spoons stalwarts and a few guest beers which are to be expected in this chain. Cheap pub co food is available all day and there are various meal and drinks deals available. There is at least one plasma screen in the rear area that was showing muted Olympics and there was no background music during my recent Thursday evening visit.

This is a decent JDW that seemed to be very popular with visiting Olympic sailing spectators and locals alike. I would have no problem returning here, but I wouldn’t stay all evening as I find all Spoons a bit boring.

One of the better 'spoons. Comfortable upper bar, good selection of well-kept ales and standard microwaved frozen pre-packed food of the chain. More spacious and feels less crowded than the other Weymouth 'spoons, the Swan. Like all of Weymouth's pubs - far, far better out of season.

This is no more than an average 'Spoons'. Choice of half a dozen ales and over a couple of days I tried three different ones and they were all fine as you would expect from Wetherspoons. As mentioned by Soup Dragon the place seems to attract the usual type of Spoons clientele and whilst good for a quick drink and as a meeting place, it is not somewhere I would want to spend any period of time.

An end terraced Wetherspoons chain pub/eatery that occupies the ground floor, which has large glass windows and the upper stories being white rendered, in Georgian style. There is a patio.

The interior is on acouple of levels and zig-zagged in shape - as in the review below. After entry, you approach the serving bar and some steps led from the left up to another level. It is all still laid out for food, but i didn't eat here so can't comment on that. The walls are the usual multi-coloured range from the Dulex 'Pubco' brouchure. The service was fine but the place was full at quiet an early time with the usual Spoons mix, from drunk to families, so i just wanted to get out - as soon as i finished my half. There were prints on the walls and the silent TV was evident. The music was general and at a decent level.

Beer; tap stuff with Abbots and Ruddles as ever on handpull, along with a bland Woodforde's Wherry

Not my favourite Spoons experience, i wouldn't go back.

When we went in this pub it was called the Hogs Head.
Once inside here there was a small drinking area close to the door then there were a few steps on the left up to a large room which had partitions to give diners more privacy this room had bare boards, drinkers were made just as welcome as people eating.
There were three real ale on here we had a drink of Gales HSB which was very nice the other beers were GK IPA and Batemans XXXB.

Pub visited 26 August 1999.
