The Cutter is just off the sea front and is a rough and ready pub in serious need of a good spruce up.There were 3 cask ales on during my early evening visit including Spitfire which the landlord got in specially for the annual military weekend and any and any of the old servicemen who called in the pub in uniform received a free half.

The Cutter Hotel is a small boozer located down a small side street off the main Esplanade. There are two small rooms and the right hand side is a seating area that houses a dartboard. There were a few women throwing some arrows on my recent midweek evening visit. The bar is located to the left where standard draught products can be purchased alongside Fullers London Glory. There is a second hand pump but this was unused. There is a plasma screen that was showing muted Olympic coverage whilst the jukebox was playing.
Children are permitted but a sign on the wall states ‘unattended children will be given a free puppy, 1 litre of Pepsi Max and their bus fare to Portland’. There are more family friendly pubs in this area to take children into.

I found the service in here to be welcoming, but this is a very basic boozer. I would return for another beer if passing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Smallish terraced corner pub, with a black and white exterior and small beer patio.

The interior had two rooms; bar and lounge. The lounge had tables and blinds and looked more set up for food. The smaller bar had coloured glass and old pictures. The music was at a decent level, service friendly, the clientele small. The decor was green and white.

Beer; usual tap stuff really, with a decent enough Ringwood Bitter on handpull.

I wouldnt really seek this place out if back in Weymouth, but would pop in if passing

The Cutter is a small pub that is on a narrow street not far from the sea front.
When i first went in here the pub had Greenalls signs outside so i would have thought it used to be a Devonish house.
Once inside there were two small rooms i went in what i think was the bar this had a few small tables and stools, there was only one real ale on the bar this was Bass and this was a fairly decent drink.

Pub visited 21 August 2000.
