Top-notch summary from Will below. There was a cracking Sunday lunchtime locals' ambience on my (strangely enough) Sunday lunchtime visit. My half of Eagle IPA was in great shape, with other CW luminaries including Young's Bitter, Bombardier 'Glorious English' and Directors also available. There's a mini games room on the way out to the garden including darts, foosball table, shove ha'penny and table skittles amongst other distractions. The lounge bar has framed music flyers including those of The Kinks, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix and a cracking Siouxsie & The Banshees one along with an upright piano and an extensive miniature spirits bottle collection in a glass case. The locals were holding court in the public bar and enjoying a variety of bar snacks including a wide selection of cheeses. You could do a lot worse than having a local like this despite the one-dimensional ale selection.

Will Larter left this review about The Queens Head

The pub sign, which is meant to depict Catherine of Aragon, who was kept in the local castle under house arrest, has been covered up with a picture of a more recent incumbent, but the pub itself remains a traditional village boozer. I called in at opening time (3pm Mon-Thu, 12 other days), and remained the only customer during my visit, but got the impression of a well used local facility. There are four hand pumps on the bar, all serving beers from the Wells brewery in Bedford, which I know some people would turn their noses up at, but my half of Eagle IPA was just right for the first of an afternoon. The landlord was friendly, his dog overly so, though soon restrained by his missus. This remains a two room pub, with no frills public bar to the left and a lounge to the right, and I enjoyed the jazz CD that the landlord acquired for a song in a job lot when the local charity shop closed down. Worth a visit if in this part of the world.
